You are warmly invited to our Christmas concert!

On 11th of December 2022 the choirs Bulgarian Voices Berlin and BulCanto will perform a rich and varied repertoire of music to warm you on a winter afternoon.

Bulgarian Voices Berlin is an international women’s choir from Berlin, founded in 2009 under the direction of Boryana Velichkova. The choir will present some of the best known and most demanding pieces of Bulgarian folklore as well as a new repertoire, which was developed with the well-known Bulgarian singer Neli Andreeva during a workshop lasting several days and will be presented to a Berlin audience for the first time.

The BulCanto choir originated in 2019, when conductor Boryana Velichkova brought together both her choirs – the Bulgarian Orthodox Choir Berlin and Bulgarian Voices Berlin, to mark their 15th and 10th anniversaries, respectively, as a project. Since then BulCanto has combined Bulgarian folklore with Orthodox sacred music to create contemporary interpretations. Special guest of BulCanto will be the string ensemble conducted by Adam Goodwin. You can expect new pieces presented by two double basses and two cellos together with the choir.

Where: Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church, Olbendorfer Weg 70, 13437 Berlin The church is located on the grounds of the former Karl Bonhoeffer Psychiatric Clinic in Reinickendorf. The main entrance to the site is at Oranienburger Straße 285, 13437 Berlin, S25, U8, X21, M21 stop Karl-Bonhoeffer-Nervenklinik (10-minute walk). When you get to the entrance, please follow the signs for the church.
